Saturday sucks!!!

Saturday sucks!!! When its grey outside, and dark in the house, when you and I are not on the same wavelength, when we can't shop, or paint, or dig, then Saturday Sucks!!!

When you are in love, and being together is enough, then Saturday is great!!! When you've just rolled off each other, and are still breathing in each other's breath, then Saturday is great!!

But, when you're going out for fresh scones and tea at a friend's place, well, then Saturday doesn't really suck at all!

What Bugs Me Today

What Bugs Me Today...Let"s see....oh, I don't know...How about FUCKING EVERYTHING!!!! The weather is nice, but who the hell can get out there when they have to do housework. Okay, I will go do the gardens...but then the housework won't get done..So, i will go look for a job, but then no housework gets done. So I will do housework, but then the job search doesn't happen, and neither does the f!!!$%^garden.

Not to mention that I still have the 100 f!@#$% day flu. You know, the problem is that no one ever realized that take the "l" out, and you have FU...add the "L" back in and you have FUwith "L" (Hell) , get it.

Also, I'm having (as Christie Blatchford once said) a fat, hairy day!!!

No fun here, my life sucks large:, and I don't think watching ER tonight is gonna do it for me.....

Ho, Ho, Fucking HO

Job Search

Well, I'm over my hissy-fit...Imagine the nerve of a company using a temp agencyto only giveme 2 days notice....Just what you get for following the rules...I want very badly to work, probably less badly as I want to sleep., but there seem to be few options for me. Office work is what I do, and office work is where I'll temp again.

Of course, there's alway phone sex, I guess....

Still Looking

Still Looking for work...First day of non-employment...dull, now its late in the evening (or early in the morning),and I am totally bummed...Iknow its not me, it's the circumstances, but that really doesn't help...because when you are awoaca, these circumstances seem to come more and more often...They don't need a receptionist any more, they don't need a generalist admin assistant, they already have as much purchasing as they will ever need.....

I know I shouldn't get down on myself, and I shouldn't let my job (or lack thereof) define me, but Jesus, even the President of the United States has a title.Hello, Mr. President-its even in his form of address, for heaven's sake!

Queen Elizabeth, there's another one...Lest just say that all Royalty around the world are defined by their titles, and even by their position in the family.

I am not working, I am not a homemaker, I am not line, or staff, or fish or fowl, or up or down, I am just nothing.

I am unemployed, uninvited, unhired, unrequired, unneeded, unimportant in the scheme of things. I could go on, but there are probably more UNs than ams.

Yes, I sent out resumes, Yes, I went to Service Canada, Yes I did some stuff around the house, but, no, I am not a happy camper right now...

Well, should go, get some sleep:)

I should be wide awake for tomorrow's job search

Good night!

My Cold, Dead Hands

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Charlton Heston, on of my favourite actors ever. Hewas alway a larger than life presence, on the big screen, on the TV, in an interview...He had an imposing stature, chiceled good looks, a very sexy voice, and also looked strong enough to pick me up and carry me away, too.

The Ten Commandments is one of my all-time favourite movies, a large, lush interpretation of some very interesting bible passages, and Cecil B. DeMille knew what he was doing, when he cast Mr. Heston as Moses. Imposing as the favoured son of Egypt, dirty and muddy as one of his fellow slaves, dignified and somewhat elegant as the older Moses, he played his role and interacted with the other peerless actors in a way that spoke volumes to me. (Certainly more than Edward G. Robinson did)

As Judah Ben-Hur, he was vulnerable, heart-wrenching, and loving to his family. I found that when I watched Gladiator, I felt Russell Crowe was channeling Chuck in his portrayal of a lost slave who really only wanted to be left alone with his family....

Let's face it, it takes an epic actor to drive an epic movie, and even in Planet of the Apes he was memorable.

I also saw him read the phone book on City TV News one night, with warmth and humour, and that same sparkle in his eyes that he always had..

Rest Well, Mr. Heston, you will be sadly missed...

UNEMPLOYED AGAIN

Well, yahoo...gotlaid off again...(I'd be more happy if I got laid again)....Not really laid off, when you temp, you have to expect to leave at some point, I guess. But this place was great, excellent people, great customers, and fabulous voices on the other end of the phone. Fabulous male voices...butI digress...If I had any advice to give to women of our certain age group, it would be,

for god's sake, hang on to your job!!!!Even if the boss is an asshole, even if you hate your duties, what the hell is wrong with you?

You see, if you get on the last in, first out cycle, you may not get off that too easily...Also, if you're making reasonable money, and you get some decent vacation, why slough that off for the sake of finding love, personal fulfillment, I hate my boss, etc. It should be enough for all of us to be making reasonable money, or at least enought to be going on with...

Do not get on the cycle of "Last in, first out" Don't get Out...it's a freakin'
cold world out there for someone older than the demographic.

Talk to you again!
